We are proud to have Dr Sajen Mathews, an alumnus of 1985 batch as one of our members. Dr Mathews is serving as a Gastroenterologist at St Jude’s Medical Centre, California. He has just been awarded the ‘Values in Action’ award of that institution after a short six year stint there. 1. Antibiotic prophylaxis for transurethral Endo-urological procedures. CRG 100. Protocol published in Cochrane library issue 2005 , Vol 2.
2. Immediate –early alignment Vs delayed management of Posterior urethral injuries. HM-INJ 01. Protocol published in Cochrane library issue 2005, vol 3.
3. Alpha blockers for ureteral calculus . Protocol will be published in the next issue. CRG 110.

Dr Deepak Bolbandi 10 Jul 2005 This young surgeon, MS from BMC in 1998, holds the current Guiness World record for removing the maximun stones from a single kidney. Dr P S Prabhakaran 14 Jun 2005 BMC Alumni Association is proud to announce that an alumnus of the college has become the Vice Chancellor of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Dr Dinaker Rai - 8 Mar 2005 Dr Dinker Rai graduated in 1969-70. He has had a distinguished career as vascular surgeon/teacher/researcher/inventor having authored a chapter on vascular surgery, and having a innovative surgery to his credit , patented a "Rai catheter", and has been honored with several prestigious awards. During his college days, he was known for his cricketing abilities! Dr K M Srinivasa Gowda 1). Dr Gowda has been nominated to the prestigious post of member of the academic senate of MAHE - Manipal Academy of Higher Education - a deemed university. 2). Dr.K.M.Srinivasa Gowda has taken over as the Chairman of Turf Authorities of India for the year 2005-2006. This was decided at a meeting of the Turf Authorities of India which was held at Chennai on 7.3.2005 3). Dr.K.M.Srinivasa Gowda has been unanimously elected as the chairman and senior steward of the Bangalore Turf Club. He has been a member of the BTC for more than a decade and has served as a steward of the BTC for the past six years Congrats, Dr Gowda!! Dr Bhaskar T Achar - 15 jan 2005 Dr Bhaskar Achar, a 1963 batch student of BMC, presently practicing as a consultant gynaecologist at Buffalo, New York, has been quietly helping the community by arranging medical camps and sponsoring the Kodagu marathon for years!! He strongly believes that the community must receive encouragement in various fields like education, sports and health care.
