Basic Drilling Course in Neurosurgery
A Basic course in Drilling was held on 12th Nov 2011 for Neurosurgery Postgraduates.
Seven MCh and DNB students honed their skills in using the drills and also the operating microscope and micro drills on the cranium and the spine.
The course Director was Dr BalajiPai, HOD, Dept of Neurosurgery at Bangalore Medical College. Dr K N Krishna, Senior Neurosurgeon at Fortis Hospitals, Dr DilipGopalakrishnan, Senior Spine Surgeon from Fortis Hospital and Dr Satish, Senior Neurosurgeon at ManipalHospitals, were the other mentors. Help from Metronics Corporation was greatly appreciated.
The feedback from the candidates indicates that the course was very well received.
Cadaveric Arthroplasty Workshop
A Cadaveric Arthroplasty Workshop was organized under the joint auspices of the dept of forensic medicine, BMCRI and Bangaore Orthopaedic Association. The facilities provided by prof devadas and his team was exemplary. Hip and Knee arthoroplasties were demonstrated by faculty from here and abroad.
The workshop was very well received. Delegates were unanimous in their praise for the infrastructure and the way in which the workshop was conducted.
