The BMC Alumni Association building was the result of generous contributions from BMC alumni across 50 years when the Golden Jubilee of BMC was celebrated in the year 2005. The unique feature of this building is that it completely funded by the alumni with the Golden Jubilee Celebrations Committee taking a conscious decision not to seek any help from the Government. One can see even today many boards which acknowledge the contributions of our alumni irrespective of whether the donation was large or small. (You should also remember that we built a Clinical Skills Centre and a 24 hour laboratory at Victoria Hospital.)
Unfortunately the building does not have a proper Lift, which inconveniences many people, elderly and the disabled.
The Executive Committee of BMC Alumni Association considered the issue in its recent meeting and took a decision to install a Capsular Lift. The estimated total cost is about rupees 18 - 20 Lakhs.
Since we have not taken any outside help to establish our nice and very functional office, the Dr. T. B. Basavarajendra Auditorium and the Digital Library with generous help from alumni spearheaded by the likes of Dr. Sarode K. Pundaleeka, Dr. Vasantha Nagasandra Reddy and Family, Dr. G M Ramappa, Dr. B R Ramakrishna, Dr. Ananth Shenoy R, Dr. Keerthi Kemparaja Urs, Dr. Latha Srinath , Mrs. V. Subhadra and Dr. K. V. Nagaraja, Mr. Venkatesha Iyer & Family and many others. I appreciate Dr. K. M. Srinivasa Gowda for coordinating all these projects.
At different points of time groups of alumni belonging to different batches have also contributed to the cause of the Alumni Association.
FOR THE PROPOSED CAPSULAR LIFT PROJECT ALSO WE REQUEST OUR ALUMNI TO GENEROUSLY CONTRIBUTE. INFACT IF ONE BATCH DECIDES, IT CAN DONATE THE CAPSULAR LIFT. PLEASE CONTRIBUTE GENEROUSLY.
